About the role

Job Summary

Resource within the Business Quality Management department responsible for executing the defined day to day activities put in place to ensure the overall good health of the Life and Annuity Quality of Business (quality business from quality producers).  Activities include the ongoing evaluation of producer behaviors and sales practices with the intent to minimize sales risk and maintain efficient operating costs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform the day to day tasks as defined within the Quality of Business Program
  • Liaison as needed with other departments and staff, particularly in areas such as Compliance and Legal
  • Diagnose and pinpoint relevant quality-related training needs
  • Meet daily/weekly/monthly review goals (productivity, quality)
  • Oversee the Life and Annuity monitoring controls to ensure they are completed and discoveries are acted upon in a timely and effective manner.
  • Analyze and report out daily/weekly/monthly statistics related to Quality of Business activity
  • Understand, communicate and support Quality of Business strategic direction
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.
  • Must maintain appropriate attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and successfully manage productivity and quality metrics
  • Expert product knowledge (Fixed Annuities)
  • Expert product knowledge (Life)
  • General knowledge of industry indexed, fixed and variable annuities
  • General knowledge of industry Life products, particularly in the middle market space
  • Ability to execute effectively and timely on project deliverables, and successfully operationalize new processes and concepts
  • Strong knowledge of multiple administration and workflow systems required (e.g., Suitability Smartform, AWD)
  • Strong knowledge of PC software required including office applications, ability to develop spreadsheet solutions that can reduce risk and cost of corrections
  • Strong communication skills in order to ask clarifying questions and exchange information with internal and external parties
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to trace problems to their source and see resolution through to completion
  • Understand relationships among transactions in order to anticipate, identify, and resolve problems
  • Organizational skills in order to handle and follow through on multiple tasks and multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work in an environment that includes multiple deadlines, exception processing, and escalations
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and give advice and direction to others, including those who are not direct reports
