As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Carbon Robotics you will work alongside your software, mechanical and electrical peers to build AI and robotics products. In particular, you will be involved in the design and implementations of services running in our cloud. You’ll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with Engineering teams to build and scale cloud and on-prem infrastructure software to support our revolutionary Laser Weeding solution and future products.
- Quickly build and troubleshoot applications and tooling to support a dynamic and continuous machine learning model training pipeline with ownership and collaboration
- What you will build will provide remote monitoring and visibility to our fleet of Robots located around the globe.
- Drive decision through project planning, task delegation and leading problem solving efforts to reiterate quickly
- Work 4 days in person at the Seattle office.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:
- Work as a Software Engineer building and implement services and distributed systems on machine and in the cloud for 5+ years (2+ mid level exp) using GoLang
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other provisioning tools
- Experience with Prometheus and/or Grafana or similar tools
- Exposure to Deep Learning Pipelines
- AWS or similar cloud provider
- General knowledge Kubernetes or container orchestration
- Proficiency with web services (REST/GRPC)
- Relational databases (MySQL/Postgres/Sqlite) and Non-Relational databases
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in multidisciplinary teams
- BS+ in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions.
