Job Position Title: Sr. Manager, Environmental Health & Safety

Position Summary:
This position leads the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team at our large and complex manufacturing site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall EHS program at the site, including creating and implementing strategic safety and EHS initiatives to foster and enhance our EHS culture. This role requires a strong technical EHS skillset to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. It includes participation on the Plant Leadership Team and managing a team of direct reports as well as the ability to lead and influence without direct authority. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership: lead and manage a team of EHS professionals, providing guidance, support and development opportunities.
Strategic Initiatives: Develop and implement strategic EHS initiatives , policies, programs and metrics to continuously improve the site's EHS culture and performance.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in critical safety programs, such as LOTO, Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, Electrical Safety and Fall Protection in order to coordinate day-to-day implemntation of programs
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, laws, standards, permits/licenses and company policies.
Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the EHS team.
Incident Management: Facilitate incident investigations with strong root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in EHS processes and practices through data analysis, audits, and feedback.
