Job Description
Purpose of the Job and Expected outcome:
The Shift Supervisor oversees the day-to-day business operations of the assigned functional team within specimen management specimen management department. Operations include but are not limited to: Sample reception and unpacking, accessioning of ambient and/or frozen samples, quality control of sample accessioning, and delivery of samples to their next destination within the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for scheduling of staff to resource the assigned shift.
- Track and record attendance of staff on assigned shift.
- Responsible for the delegation of tasks to departmental team leads.
- Ensure allocation of resource to maximize daily workflows and reallocate as necessary to ensure all required tasks are completed on-time, within specifications, and QC checked.
- Monitor daily operations and ensure that standardized workflows are followed and task transition time points are met.
- Oversee departmental staff, maintaining training files including completion of training and documentation of competency, providing guidance and correction where needed.
- Complete, document all Quality Investigations (CAPA), with in required timelines including implementing and monitoring mitigation actions as required.
- Monitor departmental emails and provide prompt responses.
- Actively listen to interpersonal conflicts and intercede involving HR where appropriate.
- Actively participate in daily specimen management huddles and weekly specimen management leadership meetings.
- Coordinate with loading dock neighboring entities to ensure ECL staff is following standardized processes to ensure quality and safety.
- Actively participate with global management in process improvement initiatives.
- Support Managers of Specimen Management in all areas of operation as required to meet client needs.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in a production environment, preferably in healthcare.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with enterprise-grade application (LIMS preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership position.
- High school diploma required
- Ability to work flexible working hours including weekends
- Authorized to work in the US indefinitely, without sponsorship
