Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Grief Counselor to join our Growing Through Grief team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
To service as a member of the Growing Through Grief Team in providing grief support to children and teens in the school grief support program.
Additional Information:
To serve as a member of the Park Nicollet Growing Through Grief Team in providing grief support to children and teens in the Growing Through Grief school grief support program. There are 16 partnering districts in the program with the primary assigned districts for this position being Eastern Carver County and Wayzata. The Eastern Carver County and Wayzata Districts have been in partnership with Park Nicollet and Westfields Health Care System providing school-based grief support for over 20 years.
The Grief Counselor position will involve maintaining and growing the already establish relationships in the secondary schools and elementary schools. The three main modalities of care include peer support groups, 1:1 counseling support, and collaborative death related crisis support.
Work Schedule:
M-F days during the school year in the Wayzata and Eastern Carver County School Districts.
The position is active throughout the school year and has a 12-week leave during the summer months.
Required Qualifications:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Professional education, clinical training, certification, experience.
- Master’s level required.
- Licensure/Registration/Certification:
- Licensure in a mental health and/or health care field.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer proficiency
- Experience providing grief support.
