Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)
- Own and manage all aspects of projects, schedules, budgets, profitability, procedures, etc. through comprehensive project completion working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams for sales, legal, engineering and production.
- Create a written workflow and manage project from RFQ through comprehensive completion and close out with document delivery to include submittal package of drawings, specifications, manuals, cut sheets and warranty.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to generate project efficiency and generate savings.
- Develop and refine relationships with customers, responsible for providing effective and continuous communication internally and externally regarding project status and reporting to ensure zero unplanned deviations.
- Sales Stage:
- Partners with Sales and Estimating to ensure visibility to project budget pre-contract (Pre-BOM).
- Owns operational translation of contract to internal systems.
- Responsible for identifying, initiating, and owning to recovery, all scope changes via change orders, including pre-BOM.
- Owns the creation, dissemination, and tracking of schedule and timelines; owns and partners with resources to secure subs, logistics, mobilization, materials, and resources.
- Working with the Safety Department, owns and responsible for the project safety plan.
- Continuously identifies and builds risk mitigators back into contract.
- Construction Stage:
- Owns all knowledge of site, project, conditions, percent completions, and situational awareness of day-to-day production, ensuring issues are addressed rapidly.
- Owns inventory control, continuously verifying MRP, and coordinating all site deliveries.
- Manages and coordinates owner/developer meetings and tempo, weekly customer communication, schedule changes, and all invoicing.
- Assist in the oversight of field crew and sub-contractors to ensure adherence to quality, project timelines, and cost.
- Understands impact of all cost adjustments, reflects costs accurately in Epicor for P&L, forecasts, and reports to senior management of any future cost overrun concern.
- Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, submittal logs, etc. and prepare and present project status reports.
- Follow up on all PO deliveries, tracking shipments, and/or missing items.
- Identifies and corrects project issues in a timely and cost-effective manner through diligent oversight, ensuring PO matches quote and BOM.
- Owns the Quality Assurance program, ensuring projects are constructed to drawings, using self-perform and/or contract labor; conducts site visit at least once and depending on size of project.
- Closeout Stage:
- Assure close out and execution of all open change orders.
- Work with accounting to assure complete invoicing to customer; collections of past due if applicable.
- Complete the Demob-checklist including:
- Schedule pick-up of inventory or material.
- Request warranties from legal.
- Generate torque letter.
- Send final documents of project completion to client PM.
- Process, complete and save all Closeout Docs, to include:
- Warranty document with PM countersignature and Legal conformation.
- Substantial Completion Document.
- Warranty Transfer.
- As Built Drawings.
- Project sign off sheet.
- Commissioning Report, if applicable.
- Review all QC items; confirm corrective actions have been performed
- Complete after-action/post-mortem with supporting departments, submit lessons learned.
- Complete all required or directed training, certification, licensing, and other learning and development as assigned.
- Abide by all Federal, State, and local laws; uphold and maintain accountability to all Company policy.
