Job Summary
Responsible for Technical support of Operations in development, production, transfer and training of medical laser products in support of in house and external manufacturing. Performs complex technical assembly and testing tasks with optical, electronic, and mechanical systems. Perform engineering centric tasks in support of design activities, full scale technology transfers, and sustaining engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
Production/Operations Support:
• Support production as required to ensure throughput goals are met both on-site and at contract manufacturer
• Support transfer activities including training of contract manufacture employees
• Provide technical assistance to both in house and external production
• Assists with the testing of pilot laser systems and subsystems.
• Work directly with engineering on outlining and implementing DFM requirements
• Collaborate with the Operations Engineering Team on Lean fundamentals and implementation of Lean concepts at both internal and external production locations
• Builds/assembles necessary to support pilot systems.
• Complete tasks using documentation (released and pre-released) and verbal instructions.
• Support the development and setup of test equipment and appropriate test parameters for use on production systems.
• Track data on lasers and other systems in support of various projects.
• Participate in the fabrication and testing of pilot systems for use in various projects. This may require electrical, mechanical, or electronic assembly.
• Analyze and summarize test results.
• Supports diagnostic and maintenance of test fixtures and production devices.
Engineering Support Activities:
• Support full scale technology transfers
• Support functional, performance, compliance, and reliability tests utilizing advanced test methods and equipment.
• Focused engineering support to solve problems and/or evaluate tradeoffs during design, technology transfer, and sustaining engineering process.
• Cross functional collaboration to ensure safe and quality technology transfers in compliance with applicable medical device standards and processes

Qualifications
Education
☒ High School degree/equivalent required
Additional coursework in physics, chemistry, engineering or related discipline is highly recommended.
