Accounting Operations Department

Vantage Accounting Operations is a shared services team responsible for accurately and efficiently recording financial transactions while building positive financial relationships with customers and vendors across North America. The team coordinates the entry, review, and approval of day-to-day transaction processing in accordance with financial policies and department SLA’s. The team members proactively engage in solving problems through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the development and implementation of continuous process improvements by maximizing the use of our technology resources, and continuing education to improve accounting operational efficiency through assessing, standardizing, and streamlining day-to-day processes. The team behaves with integrity, synergy, flexibility, respect, and initiative.

Position Overview

This role can be based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; or Ashburn, VA.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Accounting and Finance, Controller, to join our leadership team. This pivotal role will oversee the financial operations, accounting practices, and strategic financial planning of the company. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s financial strategy, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. You will lead and inspire a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As the Vice President of Accounting and Finance, Controller, you will play a crucial role in the company’s strategic planning process. You will provide financial insights and guidance to the executive team and board of directors, helping to shape the direction of the business. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments, ensuring that financial considerations are fully integrated into decision-making processes.

Essential Job Functions

Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Lead the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and board of directors.

Accounting and Reporting:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.

  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to senior management.

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business decision-making.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, including corporate, state, and local taxes.

  • Manage risk exposure and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term strategic plans.

  • Evaluate financial implications of new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments.

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.

Team Development:

  • Mentor and develop the finance and accounting team, promoting professional growth and skill development.

  • Foster a high-performance culture and ensure succession planning within the department.
