The Boeing Company is looking for a Software & Test Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) based out of Huntington Beach, CA.

 

At Boeing's Microelectronics Technologies (MET), we're looking for someone to join a team committed to understanding and improving state-of-the-art SoC and ASIC designs for Quantum System Microelectronics (QSM), a part of the Disruptive Computing and Networking (DC&N) venture. We are bringing novel electronic test systems online and need individuals capable of helping to design and build the data infrastructure as well as software automation stack to run tests, acquire and save data.

Electrically testing original IC circuit designs is the focus of this group and a large amount of software infrastructure is necessary for our overall success. You will work closely with stakeholders and test engineers daily to ensure high data volume and data quality. Once acclimated, helping to plan higher level improvements to automation and database infrastructure will be required. Ultimately, candidates who are interested in a multi-disciplinary approach to engineering as part of the natural innovation process will be most successful in this role. Occasionally, actual testing of IC circuits may also be necessary so some familiarity and/or willingness to learn is ideal.

The selected candidate will join a team that is motivated, engaged, and eager to advance the state-of-the-art. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with electrical engineers and physicists as well as have some interest and/or experience with lab hardware. This could be experience with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, field-programmable gate arrays, wave generators or the like.

Candidate shall be able to show recent demonstrated ability in one or more of the following areas:

• Learn a new technical area or application and show individual evidence of contributing to success of a project in that area as an individual contributor

• Small team environment where individuals are entrepreneurial self-starters who produce engineering products involving multiple disciplines

• Research & Development involving highly technical, complex engineering content

• Interest in quantum systems

Position Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, tests and maintains software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards.

• Reviews, analyzes, and translates stakeholder requirements into initial design of software products. Maintains said products.

• Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and useability of software products 

• Sets up and configure test environments

• Executes test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance

• Provides test results and feedback on software design and functionality

• Executes and documents software research and development projects

• Integrate software developed with hardware setups to enable test

• Validates designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis

• Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress

• Provides engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product

• Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

• Tests circuit blocks using said software to acquire new data as well as understand user stories more thoroughly

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

• 1+ years of experience designing and developing software professionally

• Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, Collaborator  

• Experience working in an Agile development environment
