The Senior Manager, Federal Income Tax leads a team in finding and computing federal and state tax interest and other tax payment opportunities. The Senior Manager will diagnose, develop, and implement solutions for the client tax needs. The Senior Manager will also direct tax research, formulate tax plans and perform tax reviews.

·       Prepares tax interest computations and explains computations to clients.

·       Assists with client billing and financial forecasting. 

·       Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of seven years’ experience in the area of interest, transcript comprehension and rules related to statute of limitations.  Minimum of five years of experience working directly on IRS interest computations.  Experience with tax controversy matters is preferred. 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.  Experience with DMI software is preferred. 

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license required.  Accounting undergraduate and/or Masters in Tax.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May directly supervise employees in the income tax practice, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s policies and applicable laws.
