General Maintenance Technician

Reports to:  Facilities Manager

Supervises:  N/A

Essential Job Functions.

• Assist in the construction and maintenance of structures and furniture.
• Assist in the inspection, repair and maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
• Respond to various service requests throughout the facility.
• Oversee the dock waste accumulation area and schedule pickups as necessary.

Marginal Job Functions

• Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
• Participate in training and meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Must be able to work professionally as part of a team with other employees..
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the company’s insurance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Must be able to consistently bend, stand, stoop, climb, walk and lift up to 50 pounds over a 10 hour period.
• Must have a general knowledge of standard practices and procedures of construction trades such as plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and mechanical systems, including materials and tools.
• Must be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond to emergency situations after hours.

Education and Work Experience

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
