Pay range: $75,000.00 USD per year.       

 

Overview

The Operations Manager, Directs and coordinates all Ground Handling activities to provide fast and efficient services for customers by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. the Operations Manager will be responsible for all Ramp Services, Passenger Services and Aircraft Fueling (ITP) ensuring that the delivery of service is consistent, professional, safe, and secure. This role requires a seasoned senior manager with a strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. The incumbent must have the ability to run a business in a challenging environment, whilst maintaining strict Menzies Corporate Governance and Financial guidelines.                         

Main accountabilities include:  

  • Fully responsible for all aspects of the station.  Services offered at the station include, Ramp and Passenger Services, Aircraft Fueling (ITP) and GSE services.
  • Reviews data on incoming flights such as scheduled or estimated times of arrival or departure, destinations and downline station stop, in order to plan work activities.
  • Directs and coordinates all operations functions and ensures workers and equipment are available for all services.
  • Analyzes reports and records of operations and inspects facilities to determine effectiveness of existing methods and procedures and physical condition of facilities and equipment.
  • Prepares and submits recommendations designed to improve efficiency of all services.
  • Investigates causes of accidents and recommends safety measures for preventing further occurrences.
  • Leading and working with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
  • Regularly interacts with customers to promote the station and to measure the level of customer satisfaction.
  • Uses customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.
  • Implementation of the company policies and procedures, promoting sound safety, security, and people management practice
  • Promoting and driving a ‘safety first’ culture through all levels of the organization
  • Ensure the business unit remains fully compliant with internal standards and all relevant industry, regulatory and state legislated requirement.
  • Lead and motivate hard working teams to deliver excellent quality and productivity.
  • Safety and security are the responsibility of each employee.
  • Required to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role.
  • Maintains all equipment records and monitors vehicle registration and hour meter program.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees.
  • Some responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy.
  • Complete shift reports and sign timecards
  • Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms.
  • Prepare disciplinary incident and/or termination reports.
  • Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed.
  • Comply with the company’s attendance/tardiness standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
