ER Tech (Full-Time)

Boone Memorial Health is seeking an ER Technician to join our Emergency Department team. This hands-on role is critical in supporting patient care by safely transporting patients, assisting with vital signs, and providing compassionate support during high-stress situations. Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients between rooms, departments, and treatment areas using wheelchairs or moveable beds.

• Assist patients in and out of ambulances, cars, helicopters, and beds.

• Provide physical and emotional support to patients and their families.

• Assist with EKGs, obtaining vital signs, and transporting lab specimens as needed.

• Ensure transport equipment (wheelchairs, stretchers) is in proper working condition.

• Deliver supplies and requisitioned items to appropriate care areas.

• Provide directions and assistance to visitors and families within the hospital.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment following HIPAA, Joint Commission, and hospital standards.

• Support nursing staff and providers with patient movement and urgent transfers in the ER.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire

• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and the public

• Physical strength and stamina to assist with patient transfers and walk continuously throughout shifts

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, Emergency Department experience preferred

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull up to 50 lbs using proper techniques

• Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and coordination of arm-hand movements
