As a Production Engineer, you will take the lead to monitor and analyze plant and process performance, asset effectiveness, and quality data to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions. You will strive to achieve sustainable target performance from process and plant, whilst ensuring full compliance with complex regulatory requirements. In addition, you will lead and provide a platform for continuous improvement in the production unit making a measurable impact to sustainability of the unit, the team and the product supply.   As a Production Engineer. you create chemistry by… ·        Your unwavering commitment to workplace health and safety will be evident as you ensure that all activities within your area of responsibility are carried out in compliance with BASF regulations, the site Responsible Care Management System, and all relevant State and Federal regulations. ·        Your established problem-solving skills will aid you in providing technical support and direction to the Shift Supervisors and operators in the resolution of plant problems. ·        Your substantial knowledge of the chemical industry and OSHA safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards (including PSM – Process Safety Management) will be essential as you coordinate, support, and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) and environmental regulatory requirements within your area of responsibility. ·        Using your strong computer skills, you will compose and submit environmental and other regulatory reports as required. ·        Relying on your robust technical knowledge, you will program and perform basic maintenance on distributive control systems. ·        Multi-tasking effectively on a regular basis and continually prioritizing your workload, you will provide support for contractor oversight, management of plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and start up. ·        Your strong organizational skills will serve you well as you create, review, and update operations documentation, and implement effective training for the operations team when technical changes are required. ·        Successfully engaging within the organization, you will liaise and lead with other departments and functions as required to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and consistency of approach for manufacturing operations.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Your formula for success… Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry Significant, relevant hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing or process development. Robust technical knowledge, chemical industry and OSHA safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards knowledge.
