Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position is highly responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating public health programs to improve health outcomes in Wakulla County. This position coordinates community health outreach efforts or program implementation designed to improve health outcomes in Wakulla County. The incumbent serves as liaison between the CHD, community agencies and non-traditional partners to reach county residents and improve health outcomes. This position requires travel for community outreach.
- Community Engagement Specialist: Leads the development and execution of outreach strategies to expand the reach of public health programs and services. Establishes and strengthens partnerships with local organizations, businesses, schools, and faith-based groups to drive participation in health initiatives. Plans and delivers community events, health education workshops, and public information campaigns aligned with program objectives. Initiates and supports cross-sector collaborations with local partners to advance initiatives tied to the Bureau of Tobacco Free Florida and the Bureau of Chronic Disease. Provides technical assistance to enhance the capacity of community partners and evaluates engagement activities to inform continuous improvement and strategic planning.
- Mental Health Telehealth: Coordinates with partner agencies to establish mental health telehealth access points in outlying communities within Wakulla County. Promotes the program to partner agencies and community members to ensure participation of participants annually in the program.
- Positive Youth Development: Assists in facilitating Positive Youth Development (PYD) sessions and youth leadership activities to promote skill-building, resilience, and healthy decision-making among youth participants. Supports the delivery of adult education sessions aimed at strengthening community-wide youth engagement efforts. Assists with planning, organizing, and promoting PYD-related events, workshops, and special initiatives. Coordinates logistics for youth and adult programming, including securing venues, materials, and promotional materials. Provides purchasing support to the Program Manager by preparing orders, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures and guidelines.
- Maintains assigned program budgets and programmatic expenses. Performs daily administrative functions that ensure purchasing operations for assigned programs. Ensure all documentation is in order and verify accounting codes are appropriate to the expense. Maintain all documentation as requested by state records retention guidelines.
- Assist the Operations Manager with the accreditation process. This includes planning and coordinating activities related to DOHW initiatives as well as support periodic quality improvement reviews, data gathering, and analysis to ensure strategic administrative objectives are met. Assist with any reports or reviews, as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and as a team: ability to multitask and prioritize tasks; ability to maintain organization.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written to various audiences; Ability to maintain a program budget and expenses; Ability to collect and analyze data, and to prepare reports.
- Ability to plan, develop, and deliver health promotion and public health education services.
- Knowledge of computer software to enhance the productivity of the CHD programs; knowledge of use of various programs for graphic designing and /or presentations.
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement practices; knowledge of the principles and practices of health promotion and public health education.
- Skilled in public speaking and teaching; use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
