Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons has an opening for a Staff DevOps Engineer with an active clearance, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Northridge, CA.

Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.

The selected candidate for this position is required to be on-site in Northridge, CA.

As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation’s warfighters. The ideal candidate will be supporting one of our programs for defining and architecting a secured missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.

Roles and responsibilities

A successful candidate will have the qualities and essential functional expertise to:

  • Develop and implement software for embedded devices and systems based on requirements.

  • Design٫ develop٫ code٫ test and debug system software.

  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle activities in an agile environment.

  • Software requirements verification and validation.

Basic qualifications for a Staff Engineer level (T05): 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field with 12 years Computer Science or Engineering experience, or Master’s with 10 years Computer Science or Engineering.

  • Security+ Certification

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux environments

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman)

  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus, and SonarQube)

  • Experience with Git

  • Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: C#, .NET Framework, Java, C/C++

  • Ability to identify needs for automation, designing and implementing of CI/CD solutions

  • Software testing experience

  • Experience with Agile development

  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop efficiencies

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills
