Commercial Strategy Intern, US MARLO - Commercial Leadership Development Program (CLDP)

The CLDP program at Alcon is seeking 2024 (Graduate degree level) Summer interns. Interns will work on key Alcon Commercial projects. The US MARLO team sits in our Vision Care Franchise and develops the commercial strategy for MARLO; this team partners with the commercial sales force as well as the product and engineering teams to advance the market adoption of MARLO. MARLO is a digital platform with the intent to transform people’s relationship with their eye health providers and advance eye care. Eyecare doctors use MARLO to stay connected with their patients when they are not in the office and improve the patient experience. The patient experience MARLO offers includes on-demand reordering of contact lenses and other eye care products from the palm of their hands. This Summer Intern will execute the following projects:
- Build the Q3 and Q4 ‘24 commercial strategy for MARLO and the associated sales meeting content. This will provide an experience to interact cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and the digital product development teams. The intern will work with internal stakeholders, get experience building strategy and consensus, and get hands on experience translating the strategy into training and materials for commercial execution.
- Build the 2025 MARLO Operational Plan. This project will afford you the opportunity to work with both cross-functional partners as well as with internal and external customers, including time in the market talking with customers. The project will include a landscape assessment, synthesizing the product’s position in the market, assessing the competitive environment, recommending top priorities for commercial success in 2025, and ultimately summarizing in a document for executive leadership as part of the 2025 commercial operational planning process.
Location: Internship will be located at our US headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.
After successful completion of a CLDP Summer internship at Alcon, interns may apply to be considered for participation in the Commercial Leadership Development Program full-time. Commercial Leadership Development Program (CLDP) at Alcon is a key pipeline for graduate degree talent with ambition to advance into leadership positions within Alcon Commercial functions. Exceptional individuals chosen for this highly selective and challenging program engage in tailored rotational experiences towards a leadership career path. Members will engage in three, year-long rotations. Rotations will include a Commercial Foundational rotation (Business Analytics, S&OP and Commercial Operations), a Marketing rotation, and a Sales rotation. Program benefits will include: Mentor Program, Functional Programming, Networking Events, Tailored Development, and Executive Presentations on key learnings and outcomes of rotations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship.
- Must be pursuing a graduate level degree in a related field.
- Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
- Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
- Ability to commit to a 10–12 weeks, full time (min of 40 hrs. weekly). May/June start dates.

- Demonstrated leadership potential.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
