Mechanical Technician | Prominent Hill

Your new role will require you to deliver high level of commitment to personal, team and site safety procedures and systems in line with company values.</span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><span><b>Location:</b> Prominent Hill , South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)</span></span></p> <p><span><span><b>Roster:</b>  8 days on; 6 days off</span></span></p> <p><span><span><b>Reporting to: </b>Mechanical Supervisor </span></span></p> <p><span><span><b>Employment Type</b>: Permanent Full-Time</span></span></p> <h2><b>In This Role You Will:</b></h2> <ul> <li><span><span>Responsible and safe operation of cranes, forklifts, rigging, scaffolding, cleaning and minor inspections of mechanical vehicles and resources.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Inspect, clean and organise of cranes, forklifts, and scaffolding equipment.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Perform scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance activities (fuel, lubricant, air, coolants) as per the maintenance schedule to the mechanical/mobile plant equipment <span>to ensure they are maintained to high standards to allow efficient operation of the equipment and prevent unscheduled downtime.  </span></span></span></li> <li><span><span>Perform breakdown maintenance activities to the mechanical equipment as required to minimize the impact to production.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Assist with the production of standard maintenance procedures.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Undertake electrical installation work as directed.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ensure that the provisions of the Electrical Act SA 1996 and AS/NZS 3000:2007 are adhered to.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Deliver high level of commitment to personal, team and site safety procedures and systems.</span></span></li> </ul> <h2><b>About You:</b></h2> <ul> <li><span><span>At least 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical trade maintenance teams in supervisor or leading hand style of role within a continuous processing or minerals processing environment</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Demonstrated experience and understanding of crane inspections, lubrication, and lubricants.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Proven experience cleaning and organising Cranes, Forklifts and Scaffolding Equipment</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Demonstrated working knowledge of Australian Standards in relation to electrical installations and maintenance</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Well-developed time management and prioritisation skills, with high attention to detail, excellent problem solving and communication skills.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Proven safety leadership skills to work with and across all teams and areas on site.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Previous experience in building and maintaining effective systems that will deliver the highest levels of safety and performance whilst achieving production targets.</span></span></li> <li><span><span><a name="_Hlk141173048">Demonstrated ability to exercise sound reasoning to analyse information and data, make decisions and overcome problems to achieve positive </a>project outcomes.</span></span></li> </ul> <h2><b>About Our Process:</b></h2> <p><span><span>At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
