About the Internship Program:
Over the course of 11 weeks, a select group of college and university students will join us remotely, gaining valuable work experiences and insights into our most exciting products. Interns engage with Wizards’ beloved brands, gaining meaningful work-experience through day-to-day training, hands-on projects, executive exposure, individual development planning and mentorship. Our internships are paid!
We believe there is an untapped opportunity to support gaming communities at university and college campuses! The University Program Development Intern will have the opportunity to help us understand and develop programs from the ground up. During this internship, you’ll help define how Wizards of the Coast supports Magic: The Gathering in university spaces. This role will work closely with the team to research, strategize, and develop recommendations for engaging university gaming clubs and student organizations to build magnificent gaming programs that support student communities.
What You'll Do:

Market Research & Analysis

Identify key trends in university gaming communities, including analyzing how students engage with Magic on campus today.

Benchmark university gaming programs from other TCGs and brands.

Research how university/campus clubs and organizations form, including structure and governance, and how Wizards can work within these structures to amplify these communities.

Strategy Development

Explore partnership opportunities with student clubs to facilitate inspiring play experiences.

Identify the needs of university organizers and students to drive outstanding engagement.

Create recommendations on how WotC can evolve to better support Magic in university and collage campus settings.

Pilot Program Support

Identify potential pilot partners and assist in crafting pilot initiatives for Magic engagement at select universities.

Support campus activations and potential event structures for identified partners.

What You'll Bring:
-
Currently enrolled in an accredited, degree-seeking program pursuing a major in marketing, business administration, entrepreneurship or other quantitative field with at least one quarter or semester left after August 2025.

Available to work full-time hours for 11 weeks.

Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Love for Magic: The Gathering and gaming communities that foster connections and friendships.

Strong research, analysis, and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and synthesize data into actionable recommendations.
Nice to Have:

Experience with university clubs, event organizing, or TCG communities is a plus.
Compensation Range, Currency USD:

Starting Pay Range: $31/hr

Pay Range End: $35/hr
