Department Details

Help transport patients from The Edith Breast Clinic and take them to the MRI area for their breast MRI. Other tasks will include:
- Talk to the patient and go over their MRI screening form.
- Help the MRI technologist get the patient on the table and get set up for their MRI.
- Take the patient back to Edith when done with MRI.
- Help stock the room with laundry and supplies, take garbage and laundry out at end of day.

4 10 hour days 6:30am-5pm. No weekends or holidays.

Summary

Responsible for serving as the main point of contact for patients and families navigating through the pre-admission to post discharge phase in the surgical and procedural areas at Sanford Health.

Job Description

Functions as a resource and professional liaison with internal departments and external agencies to promote the primary goal of optimal care to the procedural and surgical patient. Serves as in information relay between staff and families regarding start and end times, arranges consult with physicians, and helps families navigate through the building as indicated. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations.

Must demonstrate independence, assertiveness and critical thinking when working with patients and co-workers. The procedural liaison has the ability to document clearly, the ability to solve problems and is self motivated. Works independently with self direction. Must be able to establish priorities, have strong flexibility and organizational skills.

Qualifications

High school diploma or its equivalent.

Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
