About the Role

Sibylline is looking for a recent or imminent graduate, early-career security professional, or anyone with an interest in getting into the security industry to join us as an embedded Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator. Based in Scottsdale, AZ and working for a leading international fintech company, the GSOC Operator will work in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built GSOC over a 24/7 shift schedule, reporting directly to an embedded GSOC Supervisor.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with a strong interest in security or who want to build a career in threat monitoring and intelligence. Although previous operational security experience is ideal, we welcome applications from anyone with related experience and skills (e.g. research, customer service or business management) who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This includes recent graduates with a demonstrated interest in the security industry. Sibylline offers GSOC Operators a clear and established career progression pathway towards becoming skilled Intelligence Analysts within the private sector.

The GSOC Operator is an entry-level position responsible for monitoring physical security functions inside and in the immediate proximity of corporate sites. Core functions include detecting and assessing threats, reporting incidents, and determining impacts on business operations, employees, and facilities. These incidents can include technical failures, extreme weather, political instability, crime or terrorism.

The GSOC Operator will use various tools to accomplish these functions, such as global access control and alarm monitoring systems, integrated video monitoring systems, enhanced visitor management systems, and in-house applications.

​​GSOC Operators must be able to think quickly, multi-task, problem solve, prioritize and coordinate responses in a fast-paced work environment. They are also required to write accurate and concise reports for team members and department supervisors.

Daily responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure timely response to incidents, alarms, notifications, and calls for service on their relevant shift.
  • ​Ensure all forms of communications, such as emails, phone conversations, and personal interactions, are conducted in a confidential, courteous and professional manner and documented appropriately.
  • ​Maintain knowledge of the GSOC specific standard operating procedures.
  • ​Manage life-safety, alarm, communications, reporting, video management, and access control functions at designated locations.
  • ​Investigate and respond to alarms promptly.
  • ​Evaluate and process information received from all available sources, and respond with appropriate communication and dispatch procedures.
  • ​Communicate security issues or emergencies by escalating information to department leadership, local law enforcement, emergency services, such as EMT, Fire Departments, etc.
  • ​Participates regularly in security/safety training programs to stay current on critical GSOC responsibilities and competencies inclusive of drills and tabletop exercises.
