The Role
The ideal candidate will be a high-powered individual with a persuasive leadership style and motivating management skills; experienced transformational growth leader with a passion for an Extraordinary Customer Experience and delivering quality products.
Reporting to the VP Operations this role will develop, adapt, and execute the quality strategy for regulated industry to achieve key business objectives. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for leading a global team of inspired quality professionals responsible for Pre-Market Quality Assurance, Design Assurance Engineering, Pre-Market Supplier and Component Engineering, Post-Market Surveillance and Product Risk Management.
The role focuses on developing and leading the quality strategies to enable the business new product introduction and commercially released product support. A key focus will be to partner with the leadership team and with the functional leaders across the business to drive a culture of learning, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
The position is also responsible for functional annual operating plan, talent development and collaboration with senior leadership team to drive the BU strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.
- Create long-term road maps and drive improvements in Operational quality performance to enhance the customer experience and to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality.
- Own leadership and guidance to site Quality teams on matters such as compliance, industry best practices, and the impact to the business of changes in the external regulatory environment
- Ensure appropriate leading KPIs are in place and are reacted to in a timely manner.
- Lead the development of a strong customer-focused culture throughout the quality organization.
- Improve the decision-making model and problem-solving capabilities within high performance teams to increase autonomy and the pace of change.
- Be innovative, knowledgeable, and intensely committed to ensure that every product and service we supply conforms to applicable Quality System Regulations
- Supports regulatory bodies, ISO and corporate inspections including communication and coordination with regulatory agencies.
- Manage personnel to develop talent and enhance engagement to improve business performance.
- Develop and effectively manage key relationships with business partners such as R&D, Operations and Commercial leaders.
- Benchmark and network within the company and outside the company to develop new ideas, and drive these to execution.
- Engages in evaluation and diligence on potential acquisitions / integrations.
The Profile
The preferred candidate for this position is:
- Bachelor’s degree required in science or engineering fields. Masters preferred.
- Familiarity with regulated businesses and the regulations, requirements, and standards to support process planning and resource designation a distinct advantage.
- 15+ years of experience in highly regulated industries (Aerospace, Life Sciences, Healthcare) quality engineering with 10+ managerial experience
- Ability to lead in a high pace environment – self-starter with a high sense of urgency.
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills – ability to execute on priorities and effectively meet milestones.
- Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels within the organization both written and verbal.
- Ability to flex work hours and willingness to travel internationally Demonstrated experience driving organizational change using LEAN concepts such as value stream mapping.
