Team Lead, Strength and Stability Calculation

Are you an experienced Strength Calculation professional looking to advance your career into a supervisory role? Normet offers you the opportunity to become a Team Leader in addition to advancing your skills further in structural analysis! In this role, you will be part of Normet's global R&D team, collaborating with third-party engineering teams and reporting directly to the Director of Platforms Development. The position is based in Finland, preferably in Iisalmi. However, you can also be based at one of our other offices located in Espoo (Keilaniemi), Tampere or Oulu, and we also have a remote work office in Kuopio.

Main responsibilities and tasks: 

• Lead the global structural analyzes team - your team members are in Finland and India
• Coordination of the strength and stability calculations and measurements globally
• Evaluate calculation needs, analyze relevant archived calculations and conduct small pre-studies
• Strength calculation process owner - identifying process improvement opportunities and driving initiatives to deliver better efficiencies and accuracy
• Monitor calculation budget and prepare monthly reports
   

To shine in this position, we hope you have:

• A relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree (university), preferably in a field of mechanical engineering and specialized in structural analyze
• Relevant working experience (minimum 5 years in strength calculation)
• Team leader experience is an advantage, but not a must – this is a great opportunity to grow into a manager role
• Good social skills to be able to work in a multicultural environment
• Experience of working for a multinational company and matrix organization; international experience is an advantage
• Fluent in English both written and spoken is a must, Finnish language skills are an advantage
• Experience in mobile equipment calculations is an advantage
• Experience of strain gauge measurements and topology optimization is an advantage
• Experience of Ansys is an advantage
