About the role

Depending on your location, this role may be hybrid in our Philadelphia office or remote. Speak with your recruiter to learn more.

How you will help

HealthVerity partners with leading Life Sciences clients to unlock value from the largest linked healthcare data ecosystem in the U.S. We are expanding our commercial analytics advisory capability to help clients design the right questions, choose the right data, and operationalize the right analytics—without turning this role into a hands-on analyst position. If you’ve done the analytics before and now prefer to guide clients strategically (while staying fluent in SQL and data structures), this role is for you.

What you will do

  • Own the analytics strategy for priority commercial use cases (e.g., targeting & segmentation, patient journey, SoB/switching, deciling, forecasting context, omnichannel measurement) from presale scoping through postsale adoption.
  • Translate business to data: shape problem statements, define cohorts/market definitions, and recommend fit-for-purpose data (open/closed claims, EMR/EHR, lab/diagnostic, chargemaster, SDOH) and methodologies.
  • Run presale feasibility to size opportunities, validate methods/assumptions, and articulate trade‑offs, risks, and expected outcomes for Sales and prospective clients.
  • Create reusable client assets: storyboards, measurement plans, rules docs, and user guides that scale across clients and brands.
  • Lead client education: conduct walkthroughs, trainings, and office hours to drive adoption of data, definitions, and delivered tools.
  • Raise the data bar: identify gaps (coverage, latency, ID resolution, setting-of-care nuance), propose pragmatic solutions, and set governance/KDEs that improve reliability over time.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Product, Data Partners, and Delivery to position HealthVerity’s strengths versus alternatives in the market.
  • Write clear requirements for delivery teams (SQL-ready data specs, business rules, edge cases, QA checks) and partner closely to ensure what’s built matches intent.
  • Mentor and unblock delivery analysts/engineers by reviewing logic and SQL at a read/diagnostic level when needed; you remain accountable for direction and quality, not for producing code.

How success is defined

  • Clear, persuasive presale feasibility and POVs that convert opportunities and set realistic expectations.
  • On‑time delivery of client‑ready definitions, requirements, and enablement materials that drive adoption and reduce rework.
  • Increased client satisfaction and repeat engagements for commercial analytics use cases.
  • Reusable artifacts (definitions, rulebooks, measurement plans) adopted across multiple accounts.

Required skills and experience

  • Commercial pharma analytics background with proven experience designing and validating methodologies for patient and HCP analytics.
  • SQL fluency to review logic, sanity‑check queries, and communicate effectively with technical teams.
  • 5–8+ years working with large healthcare datasets in relational environments (patient/provider‑level claims required; EMR/EHR, lab/diagnostic, chargemaster, SDOH a plus).
  • Strong grasp of codified standards (ICD, CPT, HCPCS, NPI, LOINC) and common commercial KPIs (reach, frequency, TRx/NRx, share, pull‑through, patient start forms).
  • 3+ years of client‑facing experience translating between executive stakeholders and technical teams; comfortable with presales conversations and solutioning.
  • Excellent storytelling and documentation skills—able to create crisp market definitions, cohort logic, and measurement plans others can implement.
  • Tooling familiarity (dashboards, BI, notebooks) sufficient to review outputs and guide improvements; Python/R familiarity is a plus, not required.

Desired skills and experience

  • Skilled in translating business requirements into SQL code.
  • Exposure to MDM/customer mastering, affiliations/hierarchies, and identity resolution.
  • Experience with omnichannel measurement and experimentation design.
  • Prior work with data vendors and contracting/trade‑offs for coverage, latency, and cost.

Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $80,000 - 170,000 + annual bonus opportunity.
