Job Description
The Behavioral Health Assessment Specialist (BHAS) will serve as the primary person to provide patient assessments and assure behavioral health patient intakes are completed for the Behavioral Health Providers. The BHAS ensures individuals are assessed in a timely and professional manner that meets quality standards for all entities that provide oversight and/or funding at NATIVE HEALTH, including T/RBHA and licensing entities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provides assessments of individuals who participate in the Behavioral Health treatment programs, utilizing all required forms and assuring quality of care.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation, billing, and program audit support.
- Actively participates in case staffing meetings and peer review sessions.
- Collaborates with the care team and other internal and external health care providers for shared patients to facilitate patient care and follow- up, while promoting the healthcare home mission in all aspects of service delivery.
- Remains up-to-date on knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Supports the organization as needed.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Health or Social Services-related fields strongly preferred (or experience equivalent). Master’s degree is preferred.
- Two years of specialized experience working or related to the line of work of the position, which has provided the applicant with specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Experience in providing DSM-V diagnosis in a patient care setting.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred. Fluency evaluation is required
Standard Employment Requirements
- Must possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license during employment. Must be insurable under NATIVE HEALTH’s liability auto policy.
- Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment and retain a valid card while employed with NATIVE HEALTH.
- Must pass substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.
- Must provide an updated immunization (IZ) record at the time of employment.
- Must have a current (within 12 months) Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide an annual update.
- Must obtain a First Aid/CPR Card within (90) calendar days of employment and maintain a valid CPR Card during employment.
