Summary

Guidewire Cloud Platform

As a Senior Product Manager working on the Guidewire Cloud Platform, you will build products that enable Guidewire customers to develop, build, test, deploy, and manage any Guidewire application in the cloud with ease. In particular, you will be responsible for defining the business strategy and the requirements for the data access aspects of the Guidewire Cloud Platform. Our cross-functional product teams drive vision, roadmap, discovery, execution, and delivery of products that enable Insurers to innovate quickly, easily, and at scale.

The role requires working from the office 10 days per month (every Tuesday and Wednesday, and Monday-Thursday during the in-office week of each month).

  • Envision smart solutions to complex problems while collaborating as needed across regions, product areas, and functions.

  • Work with Engineering and development-facing Product Managers to build and communicate roadmaps and requirements to teams and appropriate stakeholders.

  • Provide input and participate in quarterly planning meetings.

  • Continuously convert chaos to clarity for the team.

What we’re looking for in this role:

  • A Product Manager who enjoys working directly with customers to understand their needs and define functional requirements for how our platform services them.

  • Collaborative, self-motivated, positive team player who is curious and has excellent communication skills with experience in working across global time zones.

  • Self-starter with an owner and problem-solving mindset, not afraid of taking initiative and driving solutions.

  • Experience working directly with customers, sales, marketing, and other customer-facing roles.

  • Experience with translating customer needs into functional requirements.

  • Experience with generating insights out of a large amount of data and out of data from various types (i.e. schema-on-write like structured data in a table, and schema-on-read like non-structured data in the form of JSON payloads).

  • Experience with various database and data access concepts focusing on cloud and SaaS (Software as a Service) aspects (RDS, Data Platform, data curation, database backups, read replicas, database snapshots, etc.)

  • Knowledge base in cloud technology concepts including workflows, tools, and architecture

  • Experience driving a discovery process including capturing data, analysis, forming a hypothesis, and testing;

  • Experience working with strategic product roadmaps, working on cross-functional teams, measuring outcomes, and delivering results;

  • Excellent English speaking and written communication skills

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced work environment
