JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a full-time Human Research Technologist Level - Heatlh and Medicine - Professional to work on Food as Medicine initiatives. This position will include working with a community-engaged, dynamic, fast paced, interdisciplinary research team.

 

The primary role of this position will be to provide nutrition education, food tastings, and cooking demonstrations to diverse groups of people who are SNAP eligible in low income settings (children, adults, and families). This includes collecting, reporting, and evaluating outcomes data on the impact of our initiatives at the individual and community level. This position will also be responsible for identifying new program delivery sites in the community and developing and maintaining existing relationships where SNAP-Ed approved curricula is delivered.

 

This candidate must have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Candidates should be able to both work independently and in a team environment. They must also have the ability to contribute to the Penn State College of Medicine and FCM’s missions. Access to reliable transportation for local travel to partner sites is required. Flexibility with work schedule and ability to attend community events (days, evenings, weekends) is also important. Someone who has a passion for community nutrition and is a fluent Spanish speaker is a significant plus.

Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher (Bachelor's degree preferred) plus 1 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
