About the role
Support the planning, development and execution of the Company’s Integrated Logistics Solutions (“ILS”) at an Executive level. Provide executive level leadership to the various development, commercial and execution teams to evaluate the various opportunities, strategies, development and execution of potential power plant developments across the United States and in close coordination with the Company Commercial team for site optimization and selection. EPC projects to meet company objectives.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a culture of safety in project development and execution across all internal and external resources involved for safe and successful development and completion of projects.
- Work closely with the Commercial development teams to support growth initiatives with appropriate level of design, schedule, and cost indications to allow progress toward decisions of feasibility and economic viability.
- Promote open and continuous communication between various commercial, other internal and external teams, customers, departments, and personnel.
- Set expectations for a culture of teamwork and collaboration which results in success of projects to meet company goals.
- Support the building, develop, and management of a strong, diverse project execution team capable of carrying out project initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with commercial and operational stakeholders, anticipating their needs and providing support to them as requested to understand and visualize the potential developments and their long term execution and operational possibilities.
- Comply with, ensure, predict and plan for all levels of regulations - local, State, Federal, tribal, and other on all aspects of the project.
- Foster the company culture of compliance and safety through frequent discussions and clear communication of accountability and establishment into any project plans.
- Ensure appropriate discretion is embraced by project teams during commercially sensitive efforts and time frames.
- Regularly provide feedback to upper management regarding the project development and performance.
- Report to Executive Management on current performance and realistic future projections regarding progress and financial data as well as issues impacting performance; bring solution-oriented analysis, alternatives, and recommendations.
- Keep abreast of industry activities, technologies and trends ensuring that members of Executive Management are informed of developments having an impact on current and future project success in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior, mid and senior-level Project Managers and prepare them to manage larger and more complex projects and to assume future leadership roles within our organization.
- Support efforts to develop and improve personnel and their performance, organizational processes, standards, and procedures.
- Continually evaluate and modify project execution procedures and best practices to ensure successful planning, design, and execution.
- Effectively support the transition of projects from execution phase to operations.
- Provide expertise in the areas of project execution, third party resources, execution optimization related to cost efficiency and speed to market.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure compliance with quality standards are met during design, engineering, and execution of projects.
- Oversee and provide guidance to the project execution team related to scope, bid packages and contractual structures to be deployed with contractors and vendors.
- Support Project Manager interactions with contractors throughout all phases of project construction and commissioning as needed.
- Regularly review and approve the work products of the project managers assigned, including estimates, scopes of work, contracts, accruals, and forecasts.
- Demonstrate and enforce the highest professional integrity, ethics, and safety discipline.
- Foster a positive open work environment, systems approaches and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
- Support the negotiation of EPC contracts in coordination with legal and the project team to meet project deadlines and scope delivery.
- Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
- Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined.
Minimum requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Project Management, legal profession or a related discipline.
