Wound Care Nurse

Wound care nurse duties and responsibilities 

• Weekly measurement, assessment and documentation of current wounds. 

• Measurement, assessment and obtaining orders for newly acquired wounds in facility or on admission. 

• Updating treatment orders to accommodate wound changes.  

• Updating weekly report with new measurements and interventions to be sent to cooperate, admin and physicians. 

• Updating care plans and providing interventions in the treatment and prevention of pressure injury/wounds. 

• Collaborating with wound doctor and wound care consultant to establish orders and obtain wound care supplies. 

• Ordering of wound care supplies. 

• Providing education to residents and staff on wound care and the prevention of wounds. 

• Obtaining lab as necessary. 

• Obtaining and implementing of interventions such as LAL mattress, ROHO cushion etc. 

• Overseeing pharmaceutical and nutritional supplementation. 

• Taking on call one day per week and one weekend per month. 

Must have RN or LPN License
