We are seeking an experienced Modeling & Simulation Engineer/Scientist with focus on structural mechanics to join our Global Oral Care R&D organization at the Innovation Center in Kronberg, located near Frankfurt/M, Germany.
Oral Care, featuring renowned brands Oral-B and Crest, is an exciting and rapidly growing multi-billion-dollar category within P&G, with a strong emphasis on innovation. The Oral Care R&D team in Kronberg is responsible for developing a diverse range of devices for our global portfolio, aimed at enhancing consumers’ oral health. This includes both manual and powered toothbrushes, among other offerings.
As part of our innovation strategy to even better delight our consumers, we aim to enhance our capabilities in M&S for the development of new Oral Care devices. This will allow us to gain deeper insights and accelerate the pace of innovation.
In the field of structural mechanics, M&S will be used for various tasks, including component dimensioning, simulation of bending characteristics, analysis of switch forces and fatigue strength, as well as drop test simulations. Furthermore, novel models to predict product performance and consumer perception will be explored. These models shall combine mechanical properties of the devices with biological structures of the consumer such as the geometric and mechanical properties of skin, teeth, plaque, gums, etc. as well as consumer behaviors.
As a top expert in M&S your role will involve supporting the development team by conducting simulations using established models and developing new capabilities/models in close collaboration with our product design and process development engineers. You will also collaborate actively with teams from labs, products research and clinical departments.
Furthermore, you will play a key role in promoting a culture of M&S thinking in the product development community. This will involve training and coaching colleagues to enable them to conduct simple simulations on their own. You will also play an essential part in shaping the future M&S strategy, including workflow optimization and exploring opportunities for leveraging internal resources and external collaborations.

YOUR ROLE
Take ownership of your own projects and collaborate with R&D partners to address strategic business challenges.
Apply hands-on technology, capabilities, and methods to drive key technical initiatives.
Collaborate with R&D partners to develop, align, and execute test plans for modeling and simulating material and product performance under real consumer use conditions. You will provide recommendations based on simulation results to guide development work.
Support the development and expansion of new and existing M&S capabilities in collaboration with contract companies and R&D partners.
Stay connected with the global Modeling & Simulation community and keep up-to-date with market developments to stay informed about the latest technologies and expertise, both within and outside of P&G.
Job Qualifications
A PhD or master's degree in Computational Mechanics/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics, with a solid understanding of natural sciences;
Experience in or exposure to M&S of structural mechanics during your academic studies and/or PhD, with a strong eagerness to learn and adapt quickly;
An analytical mindset and a passion for investigating and connecting the dots to discover innovative and improved solutions;
