About the role

The US adult vaccines marketplace continues to face challenges due to a variety of factors. On a national scale, consumer trust challenges, questions of legitimacy, vaccine fatigue, with retail and health system marketplace dynamics shifting to value-based care from FFS business models have contributed to this problem.  The adult market has experienced crowding, vaccine apathy, and vaccination prioritization challenges.  Activation of the adult patient has become increasingly difficult.  These dynamics demand innovative thinking in order to protect more patients from vaccine preventable disease.

As a Manager, Strategic Initiatives/Customer Solutions, you will work together with the Director, Strategic Initiatives and play an integral role in creation of strategy, resources and tactics aligned to the adult vaccines portfolio as we embark into specialist therapeutic areas. Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:

  • Lead development of resources and tactics from ideation to execution into new customer segments
  • Ensure implementation of new ways of working for marketing as we embark into new customer markets
  • Connect insights to strategy from market research designed to uncover potential business opportunities in the market
  • Ensure that all marketing activities adhere to promotion and marketing code to achieve performance with integrity
  • Ensure Sales Force engagement with adult portfolio; creating sales force understanding, knowledge, belief and motivation for adult portfolio strategy, drivers of growth, and campaigns.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 5 or more years in pharmaceutical sales & marketing
  • Experience with development of brand strategy

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Curiosity
  • Team-focused approach with individual accountability
  • Ability to zoom out to big-picture (healthcare landscape) down to granular customer interactions (how physician practices operate)
  • Strong command and understanding of various customer segments (HCP à Specialists, Health Systems)
  • Knowledge and experience in patient journey mapping
  • Lead a diverse set of people & thinking around a common purpose that aligns to strategy, while ensuring pragmatic application
  • High degree of learning agility
  • Ability to deliver projects on time
  • High-level communicator, both written and oral
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities of equal importance
  • Experience in digital/omni-channel marketing an added bonus
  • Field Sales experience (individual contributor or people leader) an added bonus due to understanding of customer and GSK’s commercial interactions
  • Incisive analytical and strategic skills
