Description
Duties:
Orders, receives, and distributes all cleaning, and office supplies in accordance with institutional procedures/policies and maintains proper inventories for all items. Responsible for processing all recycle material for the institution and delivers to the Recycle Center in Concord. Unpacks and examines incoming goods to verify quality, quantity specifications, and condition to request. Able to do some heavy lifting. Supervises work duties of incarcerated individuals assigned to the Storeroom in compliance with established procedures. Ensures storage areas are kept clean and organized relative to institutional procedures and policies. Assists with keeping record of the institution’s physical assets and disposals. All other duties consequential and related to the safe and secure operation of an active warehouse distribution center.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of standard storekeeping methods and practices, including record keeping, receiving, storage and issuance of stocked items. Knowledge of principles and methods of inventory control and supplies. Ability to work safely with hazardous products and equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft programs; Outlook, Excel and Word. The ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Comments:
This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. The agency shall consider any incidents of sexual harassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact with offenders or residents.
Qualifications
First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least one year of full-time, or equivalent part- time, experience in storekeeping work in a storeroom, stockroom or warehouse, the major duties of which included receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment. Special Requirements: None.
