Background & Purpose of the Job
The Associate Logistics Manager – Compliance & Customer Service leads international trade compliance and customer service operations across North America. You’ll ensure import and export activities are executed in full compliance with regulatory requirements while enabling efficient, reliable product flow and strong service levels for the business.
In this role, you will have direct people leadership responsibility for three full-time employees and day-to-day operational oversight of one Export Customer Service provider supporting the United States and Canada.
You’ll provide day-to-day directions for compliance execution and partner closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to enable compliant trade operations, manage risk, and support business growth in a complex, evolving regulatory environment.
A critical part of the role is collaborating with international trading partners and cross-border stakeholders, with particular emphasis on Mexico-US trade flows and other key sourcing and manufacturing markets. Through close coordination with Mexico-based supply chain teams, customs authorities, brokers, carriers, and logistics providers, you’ll help enable compliant cross-border execution, stable transportation lead times, and resilient import flows that support North America planning, inventory positioning, and customer service commitments.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
- Own end-to-end U.S. and Canadian import and export compliance, ensuring adherence to CBP, CBSA, and other applicable government-agency requirements.
- Bring a strong risk-and-controls mindset to customs execution, documentation, audit readiness, and issue resolution.
- Use import data, analytics, and reporting to identify trends, risks, and savings opportunities, and drive duty and tariff mitigation through accurate classification, valuation, and Free Trade Agreement utilization.
- Partner with Planning, Procurement, Finance, Tax, Regulatory, Transportation, and Supply Chain teams, translating trade requirements into practical, value-based decisions.
- Lead Import/Export Compliance Specialists through clear priority setting, day-to-day guidance, coaching, and ensuring consistent execution.
- Manage customs brokers, freight forwarders, and service providers through performance management, KPIs, and continuous improvement.
- Improve trade compliance processes, systems, and data governance across SAP, ACE, broker portals, and related tools to support scale and operational excellence.
- Partner with Transportation and Planning teams to monitor and improve logistics KPIs, including cross-border lead times, to support reliable planning, inventory positioning, and service performance.
- Support logistics KPIs through strong customer service, supporting Dispatch Rate and On Time Dispatch performance through strong compliance execution and customer service coordination.
- Ensure timely ocean and over-the-road (OTR) customs-clearance operations by reducing compliance-processing time, tracking performance, and driving corrective actions.

Required Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Trade Compliance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in international trade compliance, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Experience leading or coordinating teams within a compliance or operational environment.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian import/export regulations and customs processes.
- Hands-on experience with Free Trade Agreements, tariff classification, duty management, and trade programs (e.g., USMCA, CTPAT).
- Proficiency in SAP, customs and broker portals (e.g., ACE), and reporting or analytical tools
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
