The ISO Commercial Property Actuarial Product team is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Commercial Property Actuarial Product team.
The Commercial Property Product team is responsible for Commercial Property, Commercial Inland Marine, Equipment Breakdown, and a few minor property lines. The team is responsible for analyzing and creating pricing for new and emerging insurance risks; performing deep dives into pricing methodologies with the goals to enhance and innovate pricing of existing products and coverages; leading efforts to secure filing approval of pricing changes; providing supports for filings of coverage changes; and maintaining customer focus in all their work.
The successful candidate shall enjoy identifying and solving complex actuarial problems, be comfortable working with team members in high-profile projects, own part of the processes, and explain work in non-technical contexts to internal and external customers. The successful candidate will also understand the Commercial Property rating plan and / or Commercial Property ratemaking, the Commercial Property data collected via Statistical Reporting, and methods, including use of SQL, of downloading and analyzing the statistical data reported to Verisk.
Some anticipated work assignments include:
- Provide actuarial analyses in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing CP actuarial products.
- Revision of rating and ratemaking factors using reported statistical data.
- Data analysis in support of determining if a dataset is suitable for project(s).
- Support product implementation through creation of rules, documentation and filing support that implement actuarial analyses.
- Supporting customer questions, regulator questions, and additional projects as they arise.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent in a quantitative (STEM) discipline with 3+ years of work experience in data / actuarial analysis. Credit for CAS exam 5 preferred.
- Highly proficient with SQL. Proficiency in Python / R & Power BI or similar a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO rating manuals, loss cost (rate) filings, and statistical data.
- Ability to understand and use the Actuarial Standards of Practice, and in particular ASOP numbers 23, 41 and 53.
- Experience in preparing and conducting extensive data analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
