We have an exciting hybrid opportunity for a Director and Senior Counsel of Global Compliance Investigations!!
The Director and Senior Counsel, Global Compliance Investigations leads the Compliance Investigations team and will partner with other members of the company and play a leadership role in the strategic development and implementation of company-wide ethics and compliance policies and programs. This role covers Ethics and Compliance investigations internationally for P&W. The role is designated as a hybrid role, requiring consistent onsite presence at our East Hartford, CT location two to three times per week.
The selected candidate will be a member of the Global Compliance team in the Legal, Contracts and Compliance organization and will report to the Executive Director and Associate General Counsel, Global Ethics & Compliance.
What You Will do:
- Managing a team of investigators reviewing allegations of potential violations of ethics and compliance laws/policies and/or certain global security matters, including coordination of matters with larger RTX Global Ethics & Compliance functions
- Managing the workload for the investigators within the group and assisting in the tracking of the group’s investigation matters within RTX’s electronic matter management tool, including managing the review and analysis of matter trends for larger reporting to P&W and RTX Compliance functions
- Acting as Compliance Counsel, supporting non-attorney investigators in Ethics and Compliance investigations
- Working collaboratively with members of the larger Global Compliance team to provide investigation status updates and working with business colleagues to identify root causes and robust corrective actions for potential escapes
- Reviewing and drafting disclosures to the relevant regulators where violations of law or a disclosure requirement have been identified
- Assisting in the development, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of P&W and RTX policies, standard work and processes for investigations
- Managing outside counsel for certain significant or complex investigations
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Juris Doctorate with 12 years of legal experience, including 5+ years of sophisticated investigations experience and 3+ years of compliance experience
- Must be a current member of the Connecticut Bar in good standing or have the ability to qualify as authorized house counsel under the Connecticut Practice Book
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including a solid executive presence
- Must be a strong leader and team player with excellent judgment and professional maturity
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and provide guidance and practical solutions to cross-functional projects effectively and on time
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal daily supervision and to balance numerous priorities within compressed timeframes
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, in a fast-paced environment of rapidly changing demands
- Experience in drafting regulatory disclosures strongly preferred
- Background within an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred, but not required
- Investigation, compliance risk assessment, and/or risk management experience required
