Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Plans and organizes the details of the team, including skill teaching and development, practice organization, coaching, and player selection.
- Evaluates individual performance and provides leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency as required.
- Implements team discipline, decision making, and independent judgment.
- Directs the work of student workers and volunteer assistant coaches.
- Comply with institutional, Midwest Conference, University Athletic Association, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Serves on professional departmental committees.
- Ensures student-athletes and athletic representatives are informed of and comply with NCAA and University rules and regulations.
- Represent the University of Chicago in professional, alumni, and civic functions.
- Performs recruitment of student-athletes.
- Has a moderate/high level of authority to participate in staff meetings, individual planning meetings, and parent-student staffing.
- Helps staff to plan and execute events.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree.
Experience:
- Significant and relevant playing or teaching/coaching experience in Football at the professional, collegiate, or high school level.
Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Competencies
- Familiarity with NCAA rules and Division III philosophy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments concurrently.
- Proficient in computer skills; Microsoft Office and other software.
Working Conditions
- This role will perform many tasks outdoors.
- Travel to various on and off-campus locations
- Carry or lift loads and push/pull objects up to 25 lbs.
