Position Summary:
The Associate Technical Production Manager (ATPM) is a key member of Seattle Children’s Theatre’s Production Department, providing both technical and administrative production support across all SCT productions, co-productions, tours, transfers, and special events. This position bridges the technical and operational functions of the Production Department, assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of all technical production elements while supporting administrative processes such as contracting, payroll, and expense tracking. The ATPM works collaboratively with the Technical Director, Production Management team, and department heads to ensure that all productions are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with SCT’s artistic vision, budget parameters, and organizational values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Production Operations & Technical Oversight:
- Support the Technical Director and Director of Production in the planning and scheduling of all SCT productions.
- Coordinate the technical realization of scenery, rigging, automation, and stage systems across all shows.
- Facilitate communication and information flow between technical departments, designers, stage management, and guest artists.
- Review designer drawings, assist with estimating construction and labor costs, and help identify cost-saving solutions that maintain artistic intent.
- Support the safe engineering, construction, installation, and removal of scenic and technical elements in collaboration with the Technical Director.
- Create and maintain build, load-in, and strike schedules in coordination with department heads.
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of production shops and stage spaces, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Provide on-site support during technical rehearsals, load-ins, and previews, ensuring technical notes are communicated and executed.
- Assist with technical documentation including drafting, rigging plots, and equipment inventories.
Administrative & Departmental Coordination:
- Process and track production-related expenses, payment requests, and petty cash.
- Manage onboarding paperwork for production staff and overhire technicians.
- Maintain department calendars and production tracking tools in collaboration with the Director of Production.
- Serve as a point of contact for cross-departmental coordination between Production, Marketing, Development, Experience, and Education & Engagement.
