JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Academic Success department is seeking a positive, supportive, and dynamic Integrated Learning and Reading Adjunct Instructor to teach a diverse community of learners. Preference will be given to candidates who are committed to student success, equity, inclusion and the use of the classroom experiences to enhance workplace understanding and performance.

Responsible for teaching literacy and learning skills in a co-teaching environment, using MCC IBEST instruction practices. The Academic Success division is seeking positive, dynamic, student-centered individuals to teach reading, literacy, and learning strategies in a contextualized format alongside MCC program/industry instructors. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven commitment to student learning through literacy development and to those having experience working with adult learners.

Master’s degree in Reading or a related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in reading required.

Compensation: $580 per Equivalent Credit Hours (ECH)

May include day, evening and/or weekend classes and will involve travel to other campuses.

A teaching demonstration is required as part of the interview process.

Hiring process includes passing a background check.
