The Columbus Engine Center located in Midland, GA is looking for an Assembly Cell Supervisor for its Alternate Work Week shift operations which covers business hours Friday - Sunday.
You'll be tasked with meeting EHS, customer, quality, delivery, and financial goals within the facility. With guidance, you will set operational directions on engine module assembly completion, training plans, production scheduling, project implementation, continuous improvement, and communication with leadership/direct employees.
What You Will Do:
Production control and scheduling, allocating work to employees on the shift
Provide strong leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through regular team meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsive to production requirements and change
Establish work schedules - considering customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities
Work to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving cell goals
Communicate requirements to peers at supporting processes to ensure smooth process flow
Hold employees accountable while maintaining a key working relationship
Ensure world-class safety and quality culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S and Quality requirements promptly
Ensure full involvement in continuous improvement initiatives - utilize established tools to improve production, performance, and reduce scrap/rework/repair
Control quality, productivity and process flow to meet COPQ requirements while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience to include employee leadership responsibility within a manufacturing or operations environment; OR Advanced Degree and 3 years of experience as listed above; Or High School Diploma and 10 years of experience
Experience with EH&S management
Experience delivering on financial goals and having P&L responsibility.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Degree in STEM field; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.
Personnel management experience, particularly within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment.
Proven ability to lead mentoring, coaching, developing talent and motivate teams to achieve business goals.
Aftermarket Aerospace and Overhaul and Repair (MRO) industry experience
Ability to read and interpret technical data, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
Working knowledge of shop practices, quality standards, processes and procedures
Understanding of continuous improvement tools and principles
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, SAP and Solumina MES.
Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.
