We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Head of Web Design to join our growing internal creative team. This hands-on role will lead the direction in both the visual design as well as the overall strategy for our web presence. You will be responsible for crafting visually stunning and intuitive user interfaces for the Pattern website, making it a showpiece, portfolio, and pipeline asset for Pattern. You will collaborate closely with the broader marketing team to translate user needs and business goals into first rate visual designs. Your expertise in visual design, typography, and interaction design will be crucial in creating seamless and delightful user experiences. Additionally you will identify strategic opportunities based on data findings, and best practices to drive the direction of the site for optimum conversion. This role is pivotal in owning and executing one of Patterns largest marketing resources.

What will I need to thrive in this role?

  • Related degree and 6+ years of proven experience in web and/or product design, building and delivering consumer and/or enterprise products.

  • Direct experience across a range of design approaches and methodologies, from persona development and research to prototyping, user research, user needs validation, usability evaluation and the many steps in between. Skilled with design thinking.

  • A proven track record of delivering excellent experiences that meet user needs, product requirements, and strategic business objectives.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

  • Experience working in Webflow

  •  Solid understanding of layout, typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, and fluent in responsive design. Skilled at designing dashboards, data visualizations, and reports.

  • Very strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate sophisticated ideas both verbally and in writing.
