Purpose

To lead course development, re-development, and enhancement for OnRamps dual enrollment courses in close collaboration with the Associate Director of Distance Learning and Distance Learning team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team comprised of Course Builders. Provide guidance and coaching, allocate and oversee work, manage work schedules, and promote and support employee development using proven methods. Design and use data-driven approaches to ensure ongoing staff growth and program improvements.

  • Support course development and re-development projects to deliver distance courses and learning tools on time to positively address the learning needs of students in K12 and higher education settings. Develop learning assets through management and coordination across multiple teams within the organization, across departments, and other units at the university.

  • Apply knowledge of curriculum and instruction in K12 and higher education settings to lead the development of course and learning experiences, enhance processes for development and enhancement, and support the development of other online learning tools.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders by providing exceptional customer service, technical support, and problem-solving with professionalism, positivity, tact, and decorum.

  • Lead/manage designated special projects that advance the mission of OnRamps related to course development under the direction of the Associate Director for Distance Learning.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or subject area within the OnRamps course catalog.

  • Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning.

  • Three years of experience in course development, preferably for online delivery.

  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.

  • Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Smartsheet or other Project Management system.

  • Five years of experience in course development, preferably for online delivery.

Salary

$72,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Position requires up to 5% travel throughout the state of Texas.

  • Weekends and evenings possible to support course implementation, including during summer, spring, and fall professional learning institutes and enrollment deadlines.

  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Shared desk environment.

  • Hybrid work environment.

  • Climbing of stairs.

  • Use of manual dexterity.
