About the role

Senior Software Engineer at VNC LLC in Boston, MA. After in -person onboarding, eligible to telecommute 4 days/week from home office within normal commuting distance. Job Duties: Support optimization of Veson’s software systems, enabling clients to manage their bulk trade exposures effectively and comply with evolving financial regulations, and play a key role in implementing critical features for clients, enhancing the company’s productivity, competitiveness, and financial position. Provide programming solutions for voyage profit & loss management, bulk trading & risk, and data analytics within the niche maritime business domain. Utilize C++, .NET Core, and algorithm development. Job duties include the following:

Backend Financial Module Design: Contribute to design and implementation of backend financial modules in Veson’s commercial freight management application using C++.
Optimization Tools Development: Develop and deploy AWS Lambda tools with .NET Core to optimize SQL server capacity, reducing overhead for developers and enhancing system performance.
Regulatory Compliance: Contribute to the design of a maritime emissions allowance management system to address decarbonization financial regulations, ensuring compliance with evolving industry standards.
Trading Simulation Algorithms: Develop trading simulation algorithms to enable clients to effectively manage their bulk trade exposures against market fluctuations, providing valuable insights and risk management solutions.
Bug Escalation Management: Handle high-priority software bug escalations to meet SLA adherence in our global client base, resolving issues promptly and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.
Workflow Construction: Participate in the construction of new maritime software workflows tailored to support clients with various regional maritime accounting standards, enhancing the usability and functionality of our software solutions.

Education and Experience Requirement Must have Bachelor’s degree in computer or electrical engineering or related field A minimum of 3 years of experience as a software developer. The stated experience must include the following: (1) Developing complex backend services using object-oriented languages such as C++, C#, or Java; (2) Agile development methodologies; and (3) SQL Server or other relational database systems
