Job Summary:

Compass group, the world’s leading contract foodservice company, has a great opportunity for career development and growth here at its North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC as a Business Intelligence and Projects Manager supporting Field Accounting Services.  This position will coordinate resources to achieve a more effective, efficient, and automated work environment, all while providing excellent customer service to the accounting team. This position reports to Senior Manager, BI & Projects a offers a hybrid work schedule. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of analysts and developers who support Field Accounting department projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of team’s overall processes and tasks to ensure they are meeting or exceeding objectives/goals and accountable for their performance.
  • Coordinate prompt issue resolution with internal and external technical support providers.
  • Maintain and support current solutions to ensure business operation process continuity.   
  • Facilitate, support and automate processes surrounding accounting close.
  • Support and maintain business applications and reporting as necessary for critical processes within the Field Accounting department.
  • Create and publish key reports and analytics for Field Accounting management. 
  • Prepare and report on quantitative/qualitative analysis of team’s results.
  • Provide expert knowledge of automation solutions to accounting business partners.
  • Assist with strategy for modernizing current solutions to optimize process and internal resource capacity.  
  • Identify, recommend, and drive process improvements and efficiencies within Field Accounting department.
  • Manage system changes.
  • Document and analyze information and processes to solve critical business issues and proactively communicate project details and documentation of solutions.
  • Develop strong relationships within Field Accounting and Compass organizations and stakeholders
  • Provide insight and advice for their needs.
  • Provide data management, share best practices, support the closing cycle and facilitate audit requests.
  • Collaborate and share knowledge internally within Field Accounting support and across all BI & Projects teams. 
  • Interact with Compass Technology department professionals to align technology needs and support the users.
  • Understand, implement, and adhere to proper accounting practices and controls to mitigate risks.
  • Support ad hoc assignments as requested by Management.
     

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or Information Systems
  • 5+ years of business experience with 2+ years of managing direct reports experience.
  • Accounting/Finance work experience in a large public company environment preferred
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining software applications

 

Technical:

  • Advanced Knowledge of MS Access and MS Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, Microsoft Power Platform, i.e., Power Automate, or other automation tools.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP.
  • Azure Dev Ops or similar tool experience

  • Strong problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Drive change  in a dynamic  and busy environment 
  • Ability to cultivate solid business partnerships with peer management partners across multiple disciplines.
