Job Summary

Summary<br>Working independently and following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Additionally, provide input into determining study subject suitability, input into recruitment strategy, methodology design, statistical analyses, protocol design, and manuscript writing.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Independently determines the suitability of study subjects. <br>
-Develops and implements recruitment strategies. <br>
-Participates in the design of research methodology. <br>
-Plans, performs, and designs statistical analyses. <br>
-Recommends protocol changes, writes protocols, and contributes to manuscripts. <br>
-Independently performs specialized projects. <br>


 

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required or Graduate Diploma Related Field of Study preferred

Related post-bachelor's degree research experience 3-5 years required

Project Overview

Decision Aid Development for Older Adults with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). This project aims to develop and pilot a patient-centered decision aid to support shared decision-making for adults ≥60 years with IBD. Using qualitative methods, user-centered design, and implementation science principles, the study will identify decision-making needs and iteratively develop and test a clinically usable tool.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as the day-to-day project lead for a mixed-methods research study focused on improving treatment decision-making for older adults with IBD. The student will work closely with the PI at the Massachusetts General Hospital and collaborators from New York University and the University of Colorado.
