Veterinary Surgical Specialists of OC / AVSG Internal Medicine & Urgent Care are hiring Registered Veterinary Technicians for our Surgery Department!

Core Competencies

• High level anesthesia monitoring and surgical knowledge
• Provide high-quality nursing care to pre-op and post-op patients,
• Support emergency doctors including triaging emergency patients, aid in emergency diagnostic testing and procedures.
• Well-developed animal handling and restraint skills
• Work directly with owners from check-in to check out
• Superb communication skills with both clients and other staff
• Must thrive in a team environment
• Intermediate math skills
• Multitasking
• Knowledge of Ezy Vet and Smartboards is a plus!

Job Requirements

• California License Required for RVTs
• 2 years of Veterinary Hospital Experience with an emphasis on surgery
• Be able to stoop, bend, twist, reach, and safely restrain varied species of animals.
• Be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 Lbs. and balance, at times, animals more than 50 Lbs. with partner lift.
• Safely lift, move, adjust, transfer, or position patients and equipment using proper body mechanics. Stand for sufficient periods of time to actively engage in clinical activities (up to 10 hours a day)

Compensation: $28.00-$33.00 per hour, based on experience
We offer a generous $4.00/hr for a swing shift differential, or $8.00/hr weekend differential

Schedule: You work schedule will be comprised of four 10-hour days a week.  Must be able to work some weekends and holidays.
