About the role

AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with expert level domain-specific knowledge. They can solve our customer’s most complex problems and scale their knowledge throughout our global sales organization. Most importantly, they form the bridge between our customers and product teams, bringing first hand customer experience into our product roadmaps and feature development plans.

We are looking for a strong Solution Architect with a Data & AI background to enable new capabilities for our customers to deploy GenAI workloads on AWS. You will drive the development of the GTM plan for building and scaling GenAI on AWS, interacting with customers directly to understand their business problems, and helping them with defining and implementing scalable GenAI solutions to solve them (often via proof-of-concepts). Working with account teams, research scientists, and product teams, you’ll drive model implementations and create new solutions.

We are part of the Worldwide Specialist Organization at AWS, a team of customer obsessed architects and technical business leaders. We work backwards from our customer’s most business-critical problems to build global go-to-market plans and scale innovations across industries and domains.

Key job responsibilities
- Customer Advisor- Implement, and deploy state of the art machine learning solutions under Gen AI. You will build prototypes, PoCs, and explore new solutions. You will interact closely with our customers.
- Thought Leadership – Evangelize AWS GenAI services and share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, white-papers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc.
- Partner with Data Scientists, SAs, Sales, Business Development and the Generative AI Service teams to accelerate customer adoption and providing guidance on their customer engagements.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and the AWS Generative AI services teams to provide customer driven product improvement feedback.
- Develop and support an AWS internal community of GenAI related subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader technical population, to help them understand how to integrate AWS GenAI solutions into customer architectures.

Basic Qualifications


- 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience for distributed applications
- 5+ years management of technical, customer facing resources
- 5+ years of years of experience in a Data & AI related field
- 5+ years of experience in design/implementation/consulting for Machine Learning/AI/Deep Learning solutions - using one or more Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- 5+ years professional experience in software development in languages related to ML like Python or Java. Experience working with RESTful API and general service-oriented architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
- AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise
- Computer Science /relevant degree and/or experience highly desired
- Experience with optimizing ML workloads using Model compression, distillation, pruning, sparsification, quantization, Transformers based algorithms like FlashAttention, PagedAttention, Speculative decoding, Distributed training/inference optimization, Hardware-informed efficient model architecture.
- Experience with distributed training and optimizing performance versus costs.
- Experience with open source frameworks for building applications powered by language models like LangChain, LlamaIndex. Design, develop, and optimize high-quality prompts and templates that guide the behavior and responses of LLM.
