Job Description

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Fires Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support US Sixth Fleet (C6F).  The ideal candidate is someone willing to relocate or who already resides in Naples, Italy. 
The Navy will develop the application of fires using technologies and interfaces enabled by robotics, autonomy, AI, UxS, systems engineering, for use in Allied, Joint, Combatant Commander (CCMD), Fleet Commander and Numbered Fleet operational, training, exercise and experimentation events. The Fires SME supports the TF66 Commander and Staff with planning, system architecture and event execution solutions utilizing existing and emerging systems and technology applications for crewed and uncrewed platforms.
 

Essential Job Responsibilities

•    Subject matter expertise on joint doctrine, operations, and command and control (C2) for US and Allied constructs
•    MUST have demonstrable understanding of authorities, permissions, rules of engagement, related to plans and orders across all domains
•    Function as Fires representative for the development of weapons-target pairing, plans and orders  
•    Advise and recommend for Targeting Coordination Board (TCB) and/or Joint Effects Coordination Board 
•    Serves as the all-source Fires SME, supporting B2C2WGs 
•    Supports Fires plans and orders requirements PLANORDs/EXORDs, ATOs, MAAP, etc.
•    Supports Fires-related capability analysis during VTCs and other joint working groups/boards interactions during Crisis Action Planning (CAP) and exercise execution
 

Minimum Qualifications

•    3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. Master’s degree strongly preferred
•    Retired USN or USMC O-6/5 preferred 
•    Joint Qualified Officer (JQO)
•    3 years on a Senior staff (preferably N3/5 experience)
•    3 years of Operational Level of War Planning experience
•    Served in an AOC and versed in ATO development and execution 
•    Experience in Joint Fires and Effects, Joint Targeting Cycle, and Joint Assessments Process
•    Intermediate Level Education Graduate (CGSC, ACSC, JAWS, SAAS, etc.)  
•    Working level knowledge and skill of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software. Experience working within an MS Windows environment. Experience working with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and use of the Internet. 
•    Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Professional communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency in writing and editing skills to include text organization, style editing, punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
•    Active SECRET clearance required
