JOB TITLE: Clinical Director – Early Intervention & Academy (BCBA/LBA)

DIVISION: Administration 

REPORTS TO: VP of Clinical Services    

SUPERVISES: 3-10 

EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Director of the Early Intervention Clinic and Academy provides strategic and operational leadership for all clinical services delivered within these programs. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based ABA services while maintaining compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation requirements.

This position plays a critical role in advancing BHA’s mission by ensuring clinical integrity, strong outcomes for individuals served, and sustainable program growth across both Early Intervention and Academy settings.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education, Licensure & Certification:

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field from an accredited program.

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.

• Active Missouri and/or Kansas LBA licensure as applicable to service locations.

• Completion of BACB-required supervision training (8-hour supervision course)


Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ABA service delivery, including at least 3 years in a clinical leadership or supervisory role.

• Demonstrated experience overseeing multidisciplinary clinical teams and complex service models.

• Experience in Early Intervention, school-based/academy settings, or intensive behavioral programs preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple projects with excellent organization and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, professional integrity, and fiscal responsibility.

• Advanced knowledge of ABA methodologies, ethical standards, and clinical best practices.

• Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.

• Ability to analyze clinical, operational, and financial data to guide decision-making.

• Proficiency with clinical documentation systems, data platforms, and Microsoft Office.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Empower Through Innovation

• Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical models, tools, and systems that improve service quality and efficiency.

• Evaluate and optimize clinical platforms, data systems, and service delivery methods to enhance fidelity and outcomes.

• Identify opportunities for innovation in treatment programming, supervision models, and service expansion.


Integrity in Action

• Ensure all clinical services comply with BACB ethical standards, state licensing requirements, payer regulations, and BHA policies.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of client, family, and employee information, including full adherence to HIPAA and PHI standards.

• Model ethical decision-making and address clinical or compliance concerns promptly and transparently.


Advocate with Passion

• Serve as a clinical advocate for clients, families, and staff by ensuring appropriate services, resources, and supports.

• Participate in intake reviews and determine clinical appropriateness for services in alignment with BHA criteria.

• Collaborate with schools, medical providers, and community partners to support integrated care.
