About the role

Responsibilities

The Release and Deployment Administrator (Windows) will perform daily tasks listed below using Microsoft Operating Systems, along with any COTS/GOTS applications for three network domains, ensuring that defined security mandates are enforced. Individual is required to have a proven solid work experience background in customer service, desktop support, and SCCM.  Must have experience working in a Windows Server 2012/2019, and Windows 10 environment.  This includes but is not limited to create collections and advertisements for software deployment, monitors SCCM system health and performs patch management.

 

What you'll do:

  • Provide SCCM infrastructure recommendations and implement workstation models for deployment in conjunction with OSD
  • Administer and manage an enterprise SCCM environment
  • Utilize vbscript, PowerShell, OSD, SUP
  • Package and deploy software that may need to be modified to meet security needs or customer preference
  • Use Remedy ticketing system to track work
  • Support DoD customers in a demanding environment
  • Automated deployment of Microsoft Windows Operating System patches
  • Monitor and tune appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance
  • Oversee appropriate software installations and upgrades and related software packages
  • Oversee and apply appropriate support packages/patches to maintain system integrity
  • Create and maintain image process through SCCM

  • Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current
  • Oversee the maintenance of a history of system-supporting process and procedure documentation
  • Interact with client management to answer questions, problems and requests regarding deployments and issues
  • Configure and maintain System Center Configuration Manager
  • Provide limited after-hours support for emergency scenarios
  • Execution of daily work to be in compliance with DoD Information Assurance standards and practices
  • Report patching/security compliance of domain-connected assets
  • Provide tier 3 support to Contract and Government Organizations
  • Diagnose problems and escalate unresolved issues or problems - may provide alternative courses of action
  • Work with less experienced technical and non-technical personnel on both routine and complex incidents
  • Perform system monitoring and analysis, troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating system issues
  • Research and recommend automated approaches for system administration tasks where possible
  • Create and maintain work instructions and train junior staff as necessary
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently for on-time delivery
  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical clients
  • Document problem resolutions completely and accurately
  • Accurately and effectively analyze alerts/logs and take appropriate actions during troubleshooting
  • Be familiar with the DISA STIG requirements for Windows-based workstations
  • Be familiar with DoD Information Assurance Concepts/Process

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years, Master's degree with 0-2 years, PhD with 0-2 years of experience OR 9+ years relevant work/miltary experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in software installation.
  • Experience in Windows troubleshooting.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI – or a minimum of a Secret security clearance. 

Prefered Qualifications:

  • Operational experience or a working understanding of using MECM console.
  • Experiance with ACAS remediation reports.
  • Strong technical writing skills or technical documentation understanding.

Required Certifications:

  • Must obtain/maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II is required (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) Certification within 120 Days of hire.
