Pay range:
Technical Software Engineering Manager (Machine Learning Engineer): $141,350-$202,400 (USD)
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Cricut. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses dependent on position. ***Please note: This position is based in our office located in South Jordan, UT. If you are residing in Utah, you will be expected to work from our South Jordan office. However, if you are located outside of Utah, this position is open to remote work.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Software Engineering team and help shape the future of Machine Learning at Cricut. You will work collaboratively with a diverse set of teams and backgrounds to create new machine learning algorithms and systems that power the features our members use everyday! You’ll contribute to building out high-scale services, with emphasis on performance and optimization, using the latest Machine Learning tools and techniques. What You’ll Do:
Lead research and development in the following areas
Image Generation AI
Recommender Systems
Natural Language Processing using LLMs
Semantic Search
ML Model Finetuning
Background Removal
Clusterization
Quickly develop proof of concepts to prove out ideas and concepts
Develop and deploy highly scalable and performant machine learning models
Lead discussions on architectural best practices
Evangelize engineering principles internally and externally
Qualifications
BS/MS in computer science, ML, NLP or equivalent experience
10+ years professional experience in Software Engineering
5+ years working experience building out large-scale ML-driven projects
Mastery in Python or ML Frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, and MLFlow
Passionate about staying on top of emerging technologies and research in the machine learning space
Experience in related fields such as recommendation systems and natural language processing using LLMs is a bonus
Knowledge of agile quality and testing methods preferred (BDD, TDD, Unit Testing and Automation)
Excited and experienced working with a team to achieve a common goal
Actively listen to and support teammates, and embrace different ways of thinking
